mines a 90 tt and its got the b4g lsd so id assume it was relatively standard. However my car was reasonably well optioned from factory too if the lsds were an option.
I've owned GTO's since before I had a licence.

I believe they all have LSDs but you may be referring to the rare Ralliart Hybrid LSDs that were an MR option but were fitted to some std GTOs too. I don't know how many were originally sold, but not a lot. I only know of a handful out there and many of those owners discovered what they had by accident so check your rear diff plate. B4H is the 4WS version and B3H is the 2WS version.

They are still available new from Mitsubishi in Japan but they aren't cheap. I know the cost of buying a B4H and bringing it to the US would end up costing me around $4500 USD. I could buy just the pineapple (same part for 2 & 4WS) for around $3500 USD and swap it into the rear diff of my 3000GT VR4, but that is still too much for me. Still holding out for a used one which still won't be cheap since I will have to swap my trany out for GTO gearing too, since I own a 3000GT instead of GTO.

Hope this answers your question.

My 91 has a B4G, the 93 has a B4H.
But then the 93 has a sunroof too. Maybe that's "special" too?
Well it IS now.

Thats a B4G. B4H/B3H is the helical Ralliart one he's after. This has gone way off topic but, I'm not sure if you can get a TT w/o LSD but I know the NA's could come with open diffs and I think the LSD is mentioned in our case because the 4AT NA came with it too,

It's the opposite.....the anti riced.
The opposite of a polished turd.
Fully functional but not overly pretty.

The LSDs were only in the rear diff. Over here non turbos were also non AWD (FWD), so they would only have an open front diff as do all GTOs.

And yes, this has gone way off topic, maybe a moderator could split this off.

But do all the NA GTO's come with LSD's? Not talking about Z11A's, they obviously have no drive going to the rear anyways.
I've never looked but I would assume they'd just have some sort of normal diff with the LSD as an option.

Here's a good read from stealth 316.

http://www.stealth316.com/misc/3tim_small.pdf

It's the upgrades done starting with the 4 bolt block.
A few things relevent for the ozzy models
Lots of interesting stuff including a breakdown of the model ID numbers.
A bit on LSDs.
They even mentioned the "steel " crank too.

I went and checked my Diamante.....unfortunately that's got an open rear diff but i'm sure a GTO LS diff would be a straight swap.

From what I'm aware just about every GTO has an open rear diff by now anyway...the plates wear that fast.

I fitted a Kaaz.
1996 GTO, Current Projects, Battery to boot (90%Just needs bolting down really) SMIC's (20% Have SMIC's, have size, need end tanks) ECU (80% MAF tuning needs refinement) 6g75 TT MIVEC (20% have engine, have heads, need bore wall testing)

From what I'm aware, you won't know unless you jack up the back end and turn one of the back wheels.
If it turns easily and the other one spins in the opposite direction, it's an open diff (with it in gear).
No they don't wear fast.
If it doesn't turn easily then it's an LS diff and not broken.

So everyone's talking about the B4H/B4G and the B3H... But what about a B3G? What the difference?

B3G is 2WS Viscous LSD from what I remember.

3 = 2WS
4 = 4WS

Youtube "Big Meet 2019" and you get a swedish owner with Hybrid/helical rear diff/ SCE centre diff and Quaife front. At 1 min 15 it's "Drifting Time"... I questioned whether this car still had RWS and it has he said working AWS. I would have thought the car would have hung on better although don't know what tyres/gear nor overall speed he was holding. Personally I would say it was a weight thing and lo and behold he is still running front crashbar which says its probably running rear crash bar... therefore assuming this is a full fat GTO.

Interestingly this owner says that Mitsubishi had to alter/fit something...??? in the gearbox when they fitted the helical rear diff. So you better hold onto that gearbox MAGNIT to match the helical that you have.

There's nothing different in the gearbox..........I broke it ages ago and swapped it out for another one....Still got 2 brand new virgin gearboxes too...lol.
Maybe the reference was in changing from a 18 spline to a 25 spline output shaft..............I've done that too, need to swap out the centre diff  as they're different, or part of it is.

After watching the vid........these are 6 speed boxes. All mine are 5 speeds.
There's 2 different versions of 6 speed...the US and the Japan.........they use different rear diff ratios.
The internal gearing is different in them...as in the primary reduction gearing.
