Yeah bearing in mind you are expecting to get something in the region of a litre and a half in that time.

Was just thinking, supply voltage has as much of an effect on pump flow as line pressure does. Running the test at idle vs off will give alternator voltage to the pump, which is what it will see during driving.

See the chart at Stealth 316:

Image

The Denso pumps seem to consistently flow ~15lph more at 37.5psi line pressure than 47.5psi.

For those of you not on Facebook, I had a less than ideal day driving the ghost yesterday. Young fulla behind me failed to stop. Had no WOF, no rego, no insurance, no licence, no front crash bar and no tread on his tyres. The positive thing is that at least my US tail lights survived unscathed. I still can't get the boot open, the latch will have to be cut.

Fortunately for me (and possibly him) a police car pulled up just a few seconds after I got out of the car. I let the officer deal with that side of things while I sorted myself out.

Unfortunately I think we both know what's going to happen to that guy, a big fat nothing. A bit of money for the govt. He should be made to pay for all the damage on your car, and chased up to pay it, not just left to forget about it as seems to be the norm these days.

That's the insurance company's problem. He owes them the money. My main concern is whether my car is going to be written off because the greasy c**ts keep reducing the insured value (not the premiums though, they stay the same of course).

Standard fare for panelbeater I'd say. Prob a good thing you were still running with the rear crash bar!! Don't like that rust on your fuel pump inspection plate. Easy to clean those up.. If the cops charge him it will make all your probs go away...

I know that feel bro :(

I've still got that white shell sitting here if you need any structural parts for whatever reason. I hope for your sake the insurance company don't write it off....I remember going through a similar ordeal years ago.

I went and had a look at it today while I was in town. New rear end is welded on and looking nice and straight. He's waiting for delivery of the crash bar and bumper, which I could have easily provided but insurance insisted on going through parts trader. I miss this car so much, even when driving the new one.

I assume that means you got my parts then....Mainfreight actually turned up again today to pick up the rear panel, it took a lot of persuading to convince the driver that the parts were already long gone

Hang in there, can't be far off now.

Funny you mention the rear bumper, last time my one came out from an insurance repair it ended up with a 1st gen back bumper.....I dear say the Parts Trader system may be flawed when it comes to GTO's.

PartsTrader basically just creates a listing that has the vehicle details and pictures, and different suppliers quote on it.
Both second hand and new suppliers can quote. Usually goes local if possible since there's no freight, and suppliers elsewhere tend not to quote for this reason.
Its up to the supplier to quote and supply the correct parts, but the panelbeater should sure as hell notice if the part is different hahaha

Ah that sounds like a handy system. One more thing that I do need is a set of number plate lights (including the little frame they sit on). James I remember picking one up at your place but I didn't bring it back with me. I'll be up north again sometime in the next few weeks anyway to say goodbye to some people.

Last week I submitted my application for a licence to import the ghost to Australia. For comedy value, this is what I had to submit (bear in mind there will definitely be more to come, this is Australian bureaucracy after all):

-Proof of ID - Passport
-Proof of ability to get residency in Aus (Visa)
-Proof of resignation from NZ job (letter from my old boss)
-Proof of employment in Aus (letter from new boss)
-A statement by me of all international travel that I have done outside NZ in the last 12 months
-A statement from my old boss backing up all claims of travel for business purposes
-Some sort of evidence that I have been driving the car regularly for the last 12 months
-My Aus tax number
-My Aus bank details
-My Aus Medicare details (don't have it yet, that's another nightmare altogether)
-My Aus drivers licence (can't get it until I have Medicare)
-Proof of Aus address
-Proof that I have sold my NZ property (duh it's rented)
-Purchase document for the car (don't have one)
-Registration documents for the last 12 months (not really a thing in NZ)
-My first born
-My left nut
-Other stuff I've forgotten

Let's see how this pans out!

LTNZ/LTSA can send out proof of ownership

You usually get one when you buy a car

I've got the registration document, so that's covered. There just isn't an annual registration certificate like there is in Aus.

Latest news is that I spoke to some guys who are in the know, and they reckon I might have some issues regarding the engine not being the original. The inspector here will check engine number and if it doesn't match it rings some sort of theft alarm bells. So I might have to arrange some sort of police check or letter or something regarding that.

well sh** that puts it into a pickle

surely theres some process in NZ you can tell them its got a new engine, and they would just check that its not stolen then amend the records

Hopefully. I still need to talk to the guys who do the inspections over here and see what I can do to make it all go a bit more smoothly.

The good news is I have been granted permission to import the vehicle! So it's not going to get crushed, it just might not be registerable

Talked to the inspection dude, he reckons it will be sweet as long as it's the same engine number e.g. 6G72. Mentioned the brakes and suspension and he said yep as long as it's not chopped springs etc. Sounds like it's basically a WOF. Happy days, now I just need a sh!tload of money at short notice so I can actually get it here.

Don't mention the intake.

Car is in a container bound for Adelaide, along with all of my belongings. The packing guys had a bit of a laugh when they turned up to pack everything because there was a bed, a desk, a GTO and a whole shedload of parts and tools. Bachelor life!

That would just be so unlucky, right? Although it would be a fantastic way to prove to all the nay-sayers that GTOs aren't really boats.

How long's the boat ride across the ditch?
